The title refers to the celebrated Genroku Era (1688–1704), a period widely regarded as one of the golden ages of Japanese culture, known for its flourishing arts, refined aesthetics, and elegant traditional fashions. This kokeshi beautifully evokes the grace and sophistication associated with that era.
