Dum Dum Girls Only In Dreams JapanOBI CD

A standout Japanese edition from Dum Dum Girls’ Sub Pop era. Only in Dreams transformed Dee Dee’s lo-fi project into a full-band record, combining ’60s girl-group melodies and garage-pop with a bigger, darker sound. Richard Gottehrer, whose credits include Blondie and The Go-Go’s, produced alongside The Raveonettes’ Sune Rose Wagner, with the expansive “Coming Down” becoming one of the album’s defining tracks. For collectors, the Japanese PCDT-47 has an important difference: it adds “Crystal Baby,” absent from the standard international album. Sub Pop originally issued the song in the US on the limited “Coming Down” bonus 7-inch offered with album pre-orders, making this Japanese CD an especially interesting way to own the track as part of the album itself.
